Cited Honda Civic Infotainment issues can make the car's backup camera display malfunction, causing the image to freeze, flicker, or fail to display entirely. It will often show an error message of “no device connected.”

The lawsuit states that the screen can also unexpectedly and abruptly go solid black, blue, or totally blank.

This defect can also create problems with Bluetooth and USB connections in Civic vehicles. The system's issue can prevent drivers from answering inbound calls and making outbound calls as well.

These Honda infotainment issues can also cause the Civic’s built-in navigation, microphone, and GPS system to fail.

Further, the filing states this also may prevent a driver from adjusting the heating and cooling system, the filing says. 

The lawsuit states the manufacturer has known of these Honda infotainment issues affecting Civic models since 2015 or earlier.

The class action suit against Honda states the automaker has been allegedly concealing these Honda infotainment system problems from their drivers. This results in forcing their customers to pay for repairs and replacements on their own.
