Got a lemon on your hands?

Maybe you had never heard of a vehicle being referred to as a “lemon” until the unfortunate day you realized your new warranty-protected car had a serious defect that the manufacturer could not seem to fix. 

If you bought a used, pre-owned, and/or certified Car, Truck, Van, SUV, or other vehicle that had mechanical issues begin while covered by either a manufacturer's warranty or a dealer warranty (typically 30-90 days), then you may be protected under both the California Used Car Lemon Law and the Federal Used Car Lemon Law.

The California Lemon Law (Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act) protects consumers from being stuck with a defective vehicle if, under the original warranty, a manufacturer extended warranty (Certified Vehicles,) or a dealer warranty, the manufacturer or dealership cannot repair a defect or malfunction that substantially affects the vehicle's use, value or safety within a reasonable number of repair attempts.
